I caught hubby checking out this Alpine PDX-5 Amplifier at a nearby car stereo shop the other day.
My goodness! Why on earth would hubby eye on such an expensive amplifier? It’s $329.93 even after 47% discount or a savings of $320.07!
I know Alpine is highly recommended when it comes to reasonably priced amp with excellent sound quality, but is it really worth paying $329.93 in order to get the most power out of the system for clean, crisp sound even when on the highway? Pioneer and Kenwood amps are great as well, right? >.<
So, to prove that I was right, I spent some time reading car audio fan and customer reviews about Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer amplifiers.
Okay, please forgive me that I was wrong! Apparently there are more positive reviews towards Alpine’s compared to Kenwood and Pioneer’s.
Looking at the size of the amp, I am sure you get the same unsure feeling of its ability as I did. But the truth is that it proves you including me wrong.
The PDX-5 is about as big as a text book; it is small enough to be installed under the passenger seat.
To be frank, I am keeping my fingers crossed that hubby is not thinking of installing one this month or next month since we have just had our old cpu replaced with a new Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz Desktop Processor. @.@
Let me fill back the emergency fund with $279.99 before digging out more than $300 to spend on a car amp. Honestly, this Alpine multichannel amplifier can wait.
